The Anson Brown Building is the oldest extant commercial building in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was erected in 1832 by developer Anson Brown in the Lower Town area at 1001 Broadway St. as a general store.〔http://www.artsofcitizenship.umich.edu/broadway/history/eras/1826a.html〕 It is located at the intersection of Swift and Broadway streets and abuts against the Edward L. Fuller building.〔http://lcweb2.loc.gov/pnp/habshaer/mi/mi0100/mi0136/sheet/00001a.gif〕 The building design was influenced by Dutch architecture with parapet end walls. It was owned for over 60 years by the Colvin family until it was purchased from them in 1989.〔http://www.aadl.org/gallery/buildings/1001_1007Broadway.jpg.html〕 Since 1968 the building has housed the St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store.〔http://arborwiki.org/index.php/Lower_Town〕 Two historical markers on the front of the building commemorate the Underground Railroad and Dr. Daniel B. Kellog, the "clairvoyant physician."〔http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Anson_Brown_Building_Historical_Markers.JPG〕 ==Gallery== Image:Anson Brown Building Drawing.JPG|WPA architectural drawing, 1930's Image:1003-1005 Broadway Ann Arbor.JPG|Historic American Buildings Survey photo, 1930's Image:Anson Brown Building 2010.JPG|Contemporary photo of building, 2010 Image:Anson Brown Building Historical Markers.JPG|Historical markers 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Anson Brown Building」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
